The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho has said the party will arrest, prosecute and send many officials of the current administration into jail when it comes back to power in 2021.
Speaking on Okwawu FM, Ghana Te Sen breakfast show on the government,s flagship program; free senior high education which kicked start today, Mr Anyidoho said the current government has been engulfed with corruption and its appointees are looting and embezzling state funds meant for execution of developmental projects to benefit the ordinary Ghanaian. This he said the NDC will not sit aloof and watch for things to get out of hands rather, it will work hard to wrestle power from the NPP in the next general elections.
Free Senior High education policy was one of the promises made by the Akufo Addo-led NPP government in the last elections which about four hundred thousand students are expected to benefit which exempts only first year students from paying tuition and other fees.
President Akufo Addo is expected to launch the programme at the West African Senior High School in Accra today.
Mr. Anyidoho further stated the policy was not sustainable looking at the problems, chaos among other things that have characterized the policy even on its first day of implementation.
He has therefore admonished the need for the NDC to reinvigorate its grass-root to win power in 2020.
“Like I made it clear to them at their congress in Cape Coast, the NDC is in a comfortable lead and we are ready to wrestle power in the next elections. All we have got to do is to strengthen our grassroots base and I believe that will bring us back to power,” he said.
