Ghana has recorded 679 new COVID-19 cases. This brings the country’s active case count to 3,286.
This is according to Ghana Health Service’s latest update. Five more deaths have also been recorded, increasing the death toll to 367.
Meanwhile, some 146 clinical recoveries have also been recorded.
Some 71 and 36 persons are in severe and critical conditions respectively, Ghana since the outbreak has conducted 736,234 tests.
The Ashanti, Greater Accra, Western, Eastern, and Central Regions continue to lead with high infection rates.
The Former Director General of Public Health, Ghana Health Service Dr. Badu-Sakodie has said the public has to observe the safety protocols that has been put in place because it is the only this virus can be defeat.
He said a lot of people don’t take the covid-19 serous because you will have reminded them before they will obey.
The Former Director said authority has not abounded their three T, meaning tracing, testing and treatment.
He said the strategist has not been abounded and that has helped them to detect more cases.
”We do not have any data that show the new infection are from people going to churches, funeral, wedding and other social gathering, he does advice the government to balance the thing to such that it will help the economy to”. He added.
