The general secretary of the opposition national democratic congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has been attacked been attacked by some masked armed men.
According to him, he was attacked on the Suhum road on his way back to Accra from his hometown.
Speaking in an interview with Okwawu FM’s 3nkyere mu ne s3n, he said the men numbering about six who had masked on their faces and were armed crossed his car and blocked their way to attack those wielding AK 47 riffles.
He said earlier, a convoy sped pass him on the road to stop a vehicle that was ahead of him and suspects the masked men may have been part of the convoy with customized registration “Odeneho” but delayed on the way but quizzed why policemen or any security officer will wear masks on their faces in their discharge of their duties.
“They got down of their car wielding AK47 riffle and grabbed the driver in the vehicle so I got down with my military friend and identified myself and asked what the problem was” he said.
General mosquito as he is affectionately called further stated he lodged a complaint with the national security minister Hon.Kan Dapaah to contact his men to check who these men were but could not tell if he was able to do that since he did not hear from him again.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah bemoaned the rate at which the country has been engulfed with violence and criminal activities. He has therefore charged the government to work on the security of the country since the security of the country is under threat.
Meanwhile, snippets of information picked by Okwawu FM indicate the National Democratic Congress was to hold a meeting today over issues of security in the country but in an interview with a Deputy General Secretary of the party, Mr. George Lawson, he denied it.
