The Dunkwa Divisional Police Command in the Upper Denkyira East in the Central Region arrested 105 people over flouting the law on facemask wearing.
Speaking to the media the Dunkwa District Police Commander DSP Edummund Affutu said,
The move is to “enforce the directives on the observation of COVID-19 protocols.
Mr. Affutu therefore urging the genaeral public to strictly adhere to the pandemic safety rules to curb the spread of the virus in the country.
According to the Ghana Health Service, the African country has seen an average of about 200 new daily infection cases, and the number of patients requiring hospitalization and intensive care is rising.
In his latest COVID-19 update Sunday, Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo directed the security agencies to undertake random checks to ensure strict compliance to the safety protocols.
Ghana has a caseload of 58,431 infections with 55,899 recoveries and 358 deaths as of Wednesday.
