A former National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) constituency chairman for Nkawkaw and 2020 parliamentary aspirant, Mr. Francis Oppong has appealed to Ghanaians, especially residents of Nkawkaw to abide by the presidential preventive protocols laid down to combat the coronavirus pandemic because the pandemic is real and the only way to prevent its spread is to stay home and observe the social distancing measures.
According to him, the virus has no legs with which it moves but can only transit when infected persons move from one place to another and infect persons they come into contact with.
“The virus is a deadly one and people must try as much as possible to adhere to the presidential preventive protocols to stay safe. One thing is that the virus does not know any NPP or NDC member and so we don’t need to do politics with it. COVID-19 again has no legs on which it walks so let’s all stay at home in order to save ourselves and secure others too”. He said.
The 2020 NDC parliamentary aspirant also indicated that God has been merciful enough with Ghana by reducing the rate of infection in our country and therefore the citizenry must also do our part to ensure our individual safety.
Mr. Francis Oppong further called on managers of the pandemic to keep on carrying out the mass testing exercise in order to identify a lot more of persons infected with the virus, especially in this period when everybody has been asked to stay home.
