The former Member of Parliament and National Democratic Congress’ 2020 Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South Constituency, Hon. Joseph Appian Boateng (JAB 1) has donated health items worth GH¢ 20,000 to some health facilities as part of his measures in fighting the coronavirus outbreak in the constituency.

The items which include (10) different infra red gun thermometers, (8) boxes of vitamic C, boxes of PPEs, hand gloves, nose mask and other useful items were presented to beneficiary facilities in Koranteng, Donkorkrom, Tease, Forifori, Ekye Amanfrom, Akamakophe, Maamekrobo, Kwasi fante and a few others and were received on behalf of beneficiary facilities by the Kwahu Afram Plains South District Health Director, Ms. Juana Amankwah at Tease on Saturday 4th April, 2020.

Addressing the media on behalf of the former Member of Parliament and 2020 Parliamentary candidate, Mr. Amankwah, an opinion leader indicated that, Hon. Joseph Appian Boateng (JAB 1) has always demonstrated his commitment to improving the lots of residents of the Afram Plains South District and is yet determined to support the district with self dedication and hard work.

According to him, the items could have been much more than what has been donated, but for the current importation bans due to the issues surrounding the COVID-19 global pandemic. He however assured that the former MP will work tirelessly to provide more items in order reach the whole district.

On her part, Ms Juana Amankwah said the infra red gun thermometers and other item donated by the PC are very key to their work.

“The first point of assessment after the general observation is to check the person’s temperature and the reading gives us a clue as to the health status of the individual. This is exactly what we have been doing throughout our delivery system but in the wake of this COVID-19, it is important that we keep our distances in terms of delivering services to the people. Formerly you would need to position a temperature under the patient’s armpit, disinfect and use for another but with this new infra red gun gadget, the work becomes easier and the distance kept in using the new equipment builds the patient- doctor confidence”. She said.

“I have only one message for Hon. Joseph Appiah Boateng (JAB 1) is that, we are so grateful for the donations today and it is our prayer that God will replenish his life. Wherever he took the money from we pray for multiplication “. She added.

Nana Adu Parku II, the Chief of Tease also expressed satisfaction over the items, adding that it will go a long way to improve the health care delivery in the district.
