RESIGN, KWEKU BAAKO TELLS AYISI BOATENG

The managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has called for the withdrawal of Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E George Ayisi Boateng over his “priority” comment.

H.E George Ayisi Boateng at an event to usher in fresh members of TESCON last week in Kumasi said he prioritizes the needs of members of the NPP more than any other Ghanaian and urged other government appointees to follow suit.

The comment has since received a public backlash with many calling for the recall of the high commissioner. The minority in Parliament demanded either he apologized or resigned. H.E Ayisi Boateng earlier in the week apologized in a statement but the minority insisted his apology was not remorseful therefore the need for him to resign or the president recalls him.

Mr. Kweku Baako adding his voice to the call on Joy News’ News file Saturday said H.E Ayisi Boateng was not less a person but a high commissioner and that attracts seriousness to his comment.

“Even the former deputy minister of Agric, Willaim Quaittoo whose comment was against a particular group of people in Ghana in spite of his apology was made to resign let alone a high commissioner representing the whole nation… his comment is unhealthy and even the apology he rendered was unqualified, therefore the need for him to be recalled,” he said.
