The Nkawkaw Constituency Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Ali Sidi Bello has said that the NDC is now in the hands of its serial callers, party communicators and the minority in parliament.
He made this comment when contributing to a political discussion on Okwawu FM dubbed “Ye Pe Atie” a popular radio station at Nkawkaw in the Eastern region.
” The NDC is now in the hands of the Serial callers, Party Communicators, and the Minority in parliament because the executives at all levels of the party are devastated due to the party’s defeat in the 2016 election”. He said.
The NDC suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 elections where it managed to garnered 4,701,162 votes representing 44.4% whereas the NPP had 5,697,093 representing 53.80%. The party tasked a committee chaired by Prof. Kwesi Botchway to sample views of the party supporters on what led to its defeat. The committee after few months presented it’s report to the party with recommendations which the party is to embark on a peace tour to calm nerves down.
Some stalwarts of the party have been throwing salvos at each other in recent times with some members calling for the dismissal of Martin Amidu which the National executives are still considering.
However Alhaji Bello thinks the party is currently in the hands of its serial callers and party Communicators.
